Grammar is important for comprehension, spelling, and organized writing. Good readers and writers must rely on coordinating: sound processing, phonics, spelling conventions, word study, and grammar. In fact, grammar combines many of these skills, helping kids improve their comprehension and writing proficiency.

In this class you will learn how we teach grammar to our kids. We teach you how to teach your kids across all reading and writing levels, from simple text to complex literature. You will learn our most functional approach to teaching grammar and writing mechanics. We want kids to understand HOW, even while they are still learning WHY. Our strategies can be easily applied to intentional copywork grammar lessons, as well as editing original writing. Strategies are appropriate for use with new readers through high school level.

This class is best taken in conjunction with Laying A Path 2: Vocabulary & Word Study for a comprehensive approach to teaching grammar.

This class is best taken in conjunction with Laying A Path 4: Supported Writing & Editing for a comprehensive approach to writing.

Each Laying a Path: Grammar & Mechanics session will be 2 hours long and are on August 23rd and 30th, from 7pm-9pm EST.

In the live class, you will have the opportunity to ask questions. Class recordings will be sent to all participants after each session. You must have a free Zoom account to participate in our class and a gmail account to view the recordings.
