Semi-private guidance for home educators who have completed Roots Entwined and Laying a Path classes and desire continued support for teaching reading and writing to their struggling learner.
What are coaching classes?
All language arts studies rely on complex underlying language skills. Success in reading and writing requires explicit teaching strategies that cross these intertwined skill areas.
Our coaching classes help the home educator problem solve which language arts skill areas challenge their struggling learner. Then, strategies and suggestions are provided to equip educators to meet their student’s needs. Deep learning strategies are provided and demonstrated, helping educators know how to best teach reading and writing skills at the specific learning level needed for their child. We show you the methods we recommend for struggling learners..
In the semi-private class, you will have ample opportunity to ask questions and discuss your needs. You must have a Zoom account to participate in our classes. This account is free and easy to set up at www.zoom.us
What will I learn?
Deeper Roots builds on the educator and students prior learning through Roots Entwined and Laying a Path classes, focusing on further developing the student’s writing skills and ongoing reading comprehension, accuracy, and fluency.
Classes are based on the educator’s and student’s needs, and are purposely small to allow for private consultation. All participants must agree to the terms of the class, including upholding respectful conduct and confidentiality agreements. Failure to abide by these principles will result in termination from the class.
How does it help?
Deeper Roots is a 60-minute online interactive coaching class for parents who want continued guidance throughout their language arts school year. We help you identify your student’s current struggles and skills, and then develop ongoing strategies based on their individual needs.
Parents are encouraged to utilize their own phonics programs, writing, and literature selections for their students. Modifications and recommendations are provided.
