We teach parents and educators how to help students build a condensed resource for the most useful rules, patterns, and strategies studied in a year of language arts. When skills are not yet automatic, it is hard for students to hold it all in their heads. The LA Binder acts both like a second brain and helps students develop responsibility for their own learning. We show educators and parents how we help students organize the essential areas of language arts, combining: phonics and spelling, word study and vocabulary, grammar, literary elements, writing styles and techniques, and important tips, tricks, and reminders.

When we teach:

2019 Schedule: June 21st, 3pm-5pm EST

In the live class, you will have the opportunity to ask questions. Class recordings will be made available to all participants after the course. You must have a Zoom account to participate in our classes and a YouTube account to view the recordings. Both accounts are free and easy to set up.

Why we teach:

We encourage students to use their LA Binder as a reference while working on language arts. The LA Binder creates a bridge between what students learn and how they apply it to their work. As the LA Binder is created, students are responsible for finding information as needed. We want students to learn that they do not need to remember everything, but we do expect them to use the tools they have available. Above all, the LA Binder encourages students to take ownership for their learning and helps the parents and educators to stay organized as well.

“Creating the binder was very helpful and fit so well ... it's always nice to have another perspective about what works.”

“It is easier to find answers in your binder than in your actual brain sometimes!”

"LOVED the class today! So helpful to have the print-out and follow along through the binder. Your explanations and teaching tips were so helpful. I plan to make my personal binder as I go... So great to have this video in the midst of planning for the year! THANK YOU!"
